The Story of Talbot County in the War of 1812...
The leaders in Talbot County at the Time of the War of 1812 Houses of the Time Neall House (picture at left) 32 S. Washington St, Easton. Operated by the Historical Society of Talbot County as a historic house museum, the home is fully furnished and open for tours. To reserve a tour, contact the Historical Society of Talbot County at 410-822-0773 or curator@hstc.org Bullitt House, 108 Dover St, Easton. Currently owned by Mid-shore Community Foundation and used as their office. Inn at Perry Cabin 308 Watkins Lane, St. Michaels. Although greatly expanded as a resort, the original 1800 home named after Admiral Perry can be seen within the hotel’s main building. The Old Brick Inn (Colonel Kemp’s House), 412 S. Talbot St., St. Michaels. After building this house in 1805, Col. Kemp went on to command a horse patrol during the battle of St. Michaels. It is now an auxiliary building of the Old Brick Inn, a few blocks away from their main office at 401 S. Talbot St. St. Mary’s Square, St. Michaels. Bounded by E. Chestnut, St. Mary’s and Mulberry Streets, this square is the center of the original town. It is surrounded by some of the original homes that the town of St. Michaels was defending in the War of 1812. The St. Michaels Museum at St. Mary’s Square is open in May through October on Friday from 1-4 P.M., on Saturday, 10 A.M. to 4 P.M., on Sunday from 1 to 4 P.M. and on Monday 10 A.M. to 1 P.M.
